Tunnel of Love exam
Hopefully this works. We had to go feed cows this morning. I had the idea to make a tunnel with cows on one side and truck on other. Wow. She did not particularly like this experience. Considering new smells, cows and noises she did fairly well. If this is not an ok tunnel let me know and I’ll do one with chairs.

Week 2 exam 1-27-24
Hardest day of training so far. We went to Ephraim and worked in a new area with her dog pal in the area. You can hear the other dog whimpering in the background which was sooo distracting for Zoey. One video was a minute or so on each skill. The other video was all skills mixed together. As you will see there are some collar corrections. Also, this is the first time doing the kiss with hands, sit command, then correction.

Wk2 check in
After rewatching these videos I see a couple things that stood out that I’m doing wrong. 1) way to big of a step on the halt sit! 2) started on the wrong foot once😬. I am wondering if it is ok to mix up the 4 things we are working on, or do I just do left turns for a bit then switch to right turns etc? Please give as much feedback as you see fit. Sorry it cut some of the area off.

HOMEWORK Week 2 is FINALLY uploaded correctly
Trina,
The Week 2 HOMEWORK is finally uploaded. Do remember to check out the Link to FC Week 2 Glossary as well as the Link to FC article, 'Why it Works' by Deb Kidwell.
There is a new section entitled "HOMEWORK Week 2 Cliff Notes" which I believe you will appreciate. This new section is a faster, overview of the new material this week. You will also see the HOMEWORK Week 2: Dog learns Responsibility section. Both sections will help you learn the new mechanics.
When you get frustrated, overwhelmed, or confused this week, AND YOU WILL, breath and remember that Week 2 is the hardest week we teach because of ALL the new mechanics for you to learn. Fido is your BEST training friend.
Please post on this Blog any photos, videos or questions/comments/concerns.
LOL..remember to breath and give yourself permission to feel totally discombobulated. It's normal for this intense Week 2.

After 10 days of practice
This is the driveway I worked on the first day I was taught about longe line. She did terrible that day. Would not stay with me, kept running over on the lawn or running around me. We have not worked here since 1-8-24 I decided to try it again today to see if there has been improvement. Wow. For the most part she did great. The major issue I had was going east. She does not like being on the side with the horses. She kept going behind me and to the right side. Hopefully she will learn to stay on the left side.
Tracking progress
Tuesday was a rough training session. We were at the CV Park where people were playing pickle ball and some kids were to the side playing. We started about 30' away from the distraction and Zoey would not stay to my left side. She kept going behind me to my right side. After working and working I decided to go further away approximately 60-70 feet away. It took her about 15 minutes of me continuing to circle around her before she started to say on my left. After I felt confident with her ability and we were about 90% successful I moved about 5 feet closer. We practiced there until we reached approximately 80-90% success. I felt so defeated with her. She just didn't seem to get it. Any noise would send her out of position. The garbage cans, trash bags etc didn't seem to bother her it was the noises that she can't handle. I then took her to Tractor supply where she did amazing, staying to my left and keeping right with me. (Finally a little hope was restored.)
Wednesday training: We started off where we left off on Tuesday About 50 feet away. She did really well. Almost 100% accuracy after 10 minutes. So we moved closer to the noise. She continued to do well. I kept gradually getting closer and closer until I reached her breaking point. Then I moved away to the last point she was successful. We continued to work there for about 30 minutes. I then took her to a different area where there were dogs barking that always seems to agitate her. We worked there for 10 minutes She did fairly well. Again I just kept getting closer and closer to the distraction while continuing to maintain accuracy. The last spot I took her to was behind a building where there are tables, air conditioner, heater fan, trash cans. Going up she did awesome each time. However going back there was an 8 ft section where she kept going to my right side. I worked in this area until she was able to have 80% success. We then went back to where all the people were and did quiet time. She sat by me going into a down a few times but when a loud scream occurred she would sit up. Although she wasn't in a full down, I was excited she wasn't jumping on me or hiding under the chair.

Home Depot 1-12-24
Started out walking a little apprehensive today due to dad staying back recording. She wanted to stay with him. Once we got going she did a lot better. Paying close attention to where I was at. We will choose a different isle today to give her different distractions.

1-10-23
She did better today only going to the right side twice. She did however keep running ahead. Is it ok to slow down so it gives her a nudge to come back to me? Any suggestions / advice appreciated.
Review of Intro to LL: Day 1: Redd and Inverted Longe Line + Quiet Time in a new and very public place
Long ago, in a state far, far away (MD)
It's been a busy day. Redd's photo shoot was today celebrating her graduation from my Mannerly Puppy CoursesThen it was on to Frank's Produce (which opened again today) for some fabulous LL work in the aisles. We did Sits, Stands, and Downs also.
And finally Quiet Time in a rather windy, noisy place.
